本開關是由電動轉動機構、開關本體和電動控制器組成，有立式、臥式(W)兩種，適用于設備最高電壓72.5kV及以下，額定電流2000A及以下的油浸式電爐變壓器。在無勵磁狀態(tài)下分接調換，可電動操作，也可手動操作。
